Monday at the latest!

We just got back from our last appointment with Dr. Huh. As much as I wanted to wait for the surprise of labor, we asked if/when I could be induced after my due date (Friday), and she agreed to let us set up an appointment for this Sunday night at 9pm. I'm really glad she was open to letting us make the decision as I've heard that some dr's aren't always as willing to schedule an induction unless it's absolutely necessary. Plus, Dr. Huh is on call at the hospital on Monday so she will be able to spend more time with us and will definitely be the one to deliver the baby (assuming everything moves along).

So. . . I think I might be freaking out a little bit, but I'm not sure.

Yep, I am.

Of course, there's always a chance that the baby could come before Sunday, but I feel like I can go about my days a little more easily now knowing that's the latest it will be.

Hasta La Vista, Jarretts

So long, Jarretts! Our upstairs neighbors Justin, Susie and daughter Hailey moved out this weekend. We've really lucked out with our neighbors over the past year. There are 3 units in our building and all the neighbors get along really well. Luckily, Charlie and Kate will be sticking around for another year with us.

Let's hope whoever moves in upstairs can fill the Jarretts big shoes. We'll put the newbies through some hazing for sure.

The Glider has Arrived

It's official- the baby's room is complete. To our relief, the glider finally arrived yesterday morning and boy is it comfy! Cas likes to refer to it and his "football watching chair"- I guess it's never too early to get a kid started, right? Right.

Here are a few more pictures of the room:

It's a good thing we both like yellow and green!

Two more announcements

I felt really bad because we haven't been giving proper attention to two other friends who are also expecting. In fact, one of them just got married a couple weekends ago (and was already pregnant as this photo shows - scandalous). I believe they have both been pregnant for about 8 years since I first noticed their bumps Sophomore year in college.

That's Fair on the left and Paul on the right, and Courtney taking their picture.

Dead sexy

Who says pregnant women aren't sexy? That's hot.

Good news at the appointment today

I had an appt with the doc this morning and this one was much more encouraging than the last. She told me to go ahead and schedule an appointment for next Monday, but with the way things are progressing, I probably won't need another one after that- woo hooooo!!!!

Ok, I'm ready now.

So. . . for the past nine (ten) months, I've had the pleasure of being in the company of a few ladies who were pregnant and all due around the same time as the Baby Doughnut. Oh, how much fun that was. However, now that they all seem to be giving birth (and I don't know why this upsets me because one girl was a week late and the other was just due on Tuesday anyway), my morale has suffered. This is how I feel --->

Ok, maybe not that bad, but I am sooooooooooooooo ready. Physically, I feel totally fine- just a little tired. I think Cas and I are both just ready to meet this kid and get on with it already! That, and I want to start using all of our new stuff.

Are the rumors true?!?!

We have unconfirmed reports that Dan and Sharis are proud parents of a little boy! Whoa- this is getting serious. Congrats to the new parents. Missy is super thrilled for them, but she did admit to a little jealously because "she wants one too".

Go to Dan's blog for updates that should be coming anytime now.

What's new? Nuttin'

We had another appointment with Dr. Huh yesterday and despite the fact that Missy thinks the baby is ready any minute, the doc couldn't confirm that. I guess we are playing the waiting game. At the absolute LATEST, the baby will be here by August 13th since we do know that Missy will be induced 10 days after her due date. We hope it's a lot earlier than that, but who knows?

I risked it and took a trip to LA today, but figured I could always get back one way or another even if I had to rent a car and fly on I-5. My rationale was that I'd probably get pulled over but could then make my plea to get home and probably get a police escort. Didn't come to that, but I was prepared to pull it off.

The Final Countdown

It's the final countdown!

Nursery complete? check
Stroller purchased? check
Breast pump washed? check
New station wagon? check
Anxious, excited parents? check

Needless to say, we're very excited about the new arrival. We love our doctor, Dr. Huh. Twice she has complimented Missy on having "a good pelvis". We don't know what that means, but it's so nice of her to say. She also asked us how big each of us was at birth - we hope that isn't some indication that this baby will be TOO big on its was out.

We've passed along our doctors name to some others. Usually goes something like this.
Prospecitve Mom: We're thinking about having a baby, who's your doctor?
Missy: Huh
Prospective Mom (louder): WE'RE THINKING ABOUT HAVING A BABY, WHO'S YOUR DOCTOR?
