Weekend Update

The last couple of weeks, Jackson has been smiling more, giggling and also hanging out with Dad a LOT. Coincidence? I'll let the blog pundits decide.

Last weekend, Jackson and Missy came to watch a basketball tournament I was in. Missy surprised me and dressed Jackson the coolest baby hoops gear I've ever seen (thanks to Missy's Aunt Mary for sending). It even had the number 33 on the jersey, once made famous by the Basketball Jesus (Larry Bird). Most people don't know that I really wanted to name him Lawrence Bird Schneller (and I was a little bit serious). Here's the outfit:
And check this out. I took care of Jackson this whole weekend pretty much all by myself. Yep, I did. Missy needed to work this weekend so I spent lots of time with my little buddy. On Saturday, we spent the day watching football and baseball. All I can say about Notre Dame is thank God Jackson won't remember anything about this season. We stink. On Sunday, I took J down to Los Altos to see Papa & Tutu (the "double G's"), the Watsons, Peggy and of course Grandpa and Grandma. I think one or two people noticed I was there, as they pushed me out of the way to get to the superstar. Not bitter or anything.

I have a lot more confidence that I can take care of the little guy all by myself - not that I didn't think I could, but I really hadn't had to watch him much by myself. The first of many boys weekends. It was great.

Jackson Week 9

Here are just a few pictures from Jackson's 9th week.

Yes, I watch Jackson Sleep

And now, by the power of technology, you can too

A Short Story from Natalie

This is an e-mail from my sis, Natty, about her 3-year old:

So Michael and Sophia are laying on the living room couch together watching the Rockies game Saturday is close to Sophia's bedtime, and she is really squirming around. She has also been asking tons of WHY questions lately. So here is what went down.

Michael: Sophia please stop wiggling around so much!
Sophia: Why????

Michael: just kicked me in the penis, and it really hurt!

Sophia: Oh.

Sophia: Daddy?

Michael: Yeah, sweetie?

Sophia: Please don't kick me in the vagina.

We're back from South Dakota

Sorry for the delay. Here are pictures from Jackson's 7-8th week and our trip in South Dakota. We had such a good time and it was so nice to finally introduce Jackson to the rest of the family! For those of you who were concerned, my trip through airport security was a breeze. AND, Jackson slept the entire time on both flights, so he made it easy for me.

Our week in SD was busy, but so fun. Jackson slept very well the whole time we were there, so that helped. Now we just have to wait a few short months before we head back for Christmas!

I also have a few more videos to share, however I think I may have already posted the best one of the bunch. If anyone has a request for Jackson's next performance, please let me know.

Auntie Natty's Visit

Auntie Natty followed Auntie Laurie and was here this weekend. Here are the pictures from her visit. We were able to get some sightseeing in on Saturday and had so much fun! As with when Laurie was here, it was just nice to have some one-on-one time. With all of the kiddo's in our family, that's hard to come by these days.
I am headed to South Dakota tomorrow morning- airport security, here we come!

Jackson's New Playmate

My neighbor had a little boy (a 10 pounder) two days before Jackson was born, and we had their first play date the other day. It was funny because they never made eye contact, but they played happily on the gymini for about 45 minutes, so they definitely liked being together. Once Rowan was moved, Jackson started to fuss. It was really fun watching them! Here are the pictures from that day and a few others from Jackson's 4th and 5th week.
