Dith Pran

We almost never take a break from the Jackson-action, as we know that our wide readership demands 24/7 Jackson news.

So bear with me here...Dith Pran was a Cambodian photojournalist made famous for inspiring the movie The Killing Fields about the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia in the late 70's. Taking huge personal risk, he played a critical role in communicating to the outside world the atrocities taking place in Cambodia. Missy and I visited Cambodia in 2004 and the trip greatly affected both of us. The country is still slowly recovering from the death of an estimated 2 million people during that time. Dith Pran died today at 65 (Click here for the NY Times obituary). The movie is also worth renting if you've never seen it.

Cabo Pictures

Happy Easter! We had a nice day with everyone today and now we're just enjoying the rest of our Sunday. I love daylight savings.

Here are the pictures from our trip to Cabo. Dan and Sharis have theirs posted as well so check those out too!

I would have posted a picture here, but we just got our new computer and I haven't had time to put all of our pictures on here yet. Dan, I will be calling you for IT support (you offered), thanks.

Chicken Dance

Thanks to Aunt Mary for the loverly chicken featured in this video. I think Jackson was really confused.

Standing up

Yesterday afternoon during what was supposed to be Jackson's naptime, I could hear him crying in his bedroom. He wasn't crying too hard, so I figured I would let him go for a few minutes to see if he could get himself back to sleep. So about 10 minutes goes by and I decide to go check on him. . . I opened the door and there was Jackson standing in his crib, supporting himself with one hand on the crib rail and he was holding on for dear life to one of the strings on his crib mobile. I think he had gotten himself up and then couldn't figure out how to get back down, so he was probably in that position for at least 10 minutes!

In response, I took down the mobile before putting him in bed last night. I thought (or hoped) that this was just a fluke, but when I went to get him this morning, there he was, standing in his crib waiting for me! I have to admit that it's REALLY cute, but I don't think I'm ready for this!

Stella Pearl Tognetti is here!

That's right, it's ANOTHER girl. That makes, 2 boys and 6 girls. Stella Pearl Tognetti was born on March 8th, which was 9 days early. The little girl can't even talk yet and already she's on her mom's good side!

We are so excited for you guys and we can't wait to meet her!

More yoga

Relax. The Mexico pictures are coming. You know that I can't resist putting comments on them, and given that there are 270 pictures (ridiculous), it's taking me a little while. In the meantime, allow yourself to join Jackson in a short, yet very relaxing meditation. Or maybe he was. . .doing something else.

Last round of 6-month Pics

We are off to Mexico with the Cooley's on Saturday (woo hoo!), and since Jackson will be 7 months old when we get back, I thought I would post the last round of 6-month pictures. I still can't believe how quickly the time has gone by.

I THINK Jackson may have gotten one step closer to saying "Daddy" the other day. The 'd d d d d' sounds are finally starting to take shape. I've definitely noticed how much more vocal he is in general- it's so fun to listen to him talking in his crib.

Anyway, we're off to Cabo until next Saturday so I'll be sure to get a post up ASAP after we get back.
